Updates

I haven't had any "favorite" caches for a couple of weeks now. It's not that we haven't found some good ones, it's just that nothing has said "WOW" to me. We did see some great scenery on the way to caches and here are a couple of photos.

Southern Oregon

Our favorite cache this week was Spring has Sprung. This is another of the Oregon History Challenge caches. We don't care so much about the actual challenge, but we do like to visit the caches since we know we are going to find one that is located and placed the way we like them -- the way caches were done when we first started caching.

This one and it's companion Sprung-A-Creek, we great. The drive to them both was on Forest Service Roads. Sprung a Creek was at a beautiful viewpoint that looked out over the other cache.

Spring has Sprung was located down more Forest Service roads and at a campground that appears to not have much use anymore. We arrived, drove around, got within .25 and couldn't find a road to it. We drove around more and parked at an overlook that put us on the wrong side of the creek (which is actually river-width). We kept this parking spot and walked down to where the spring actually started -- bubbling up from the ground -- and crossed there. We hiked along the banks, scaring up dragonflies, until we cut into the woods to get the cache. GREAT place. Gorgeous!
